Meet Chef Rodolphe

Before becoming a Chef, Rodolphe grew up between pots and utensils in his mother and grand mother’s kitchen in the Burgundy area in France. Rodolphe climbed the ladder working with famous Chefs in France like Bertrand Desos from “Paquet”.

He also traveled around the world to satisfy his curiosity and extend his knowledge of spices, flavors and aromas.

Meet Pascale

Pascale who graduated in hospitality, and has an oenology certificate, started working on the floor in 1995 after winning a gold medal for the best European Waitress. This award has given her the opportunity to work in some of the best French restaurants like ‘Pierre Orsi restaurant’ ; ‘La soupière’; ‘La Tour Rose’ and ‘Thierry Gache restaurant’.

Together…

When Pascale and Rodolphe’s paths crossed, it was success at first sight. Together they created ‘Happy Friend Family Restaurant’ in the old town of Lyon which is classified world heritage by UNESCO. The notoriety of the establishment was quickly recognized and they started receiving newspaper articles and awards. The best success they had was in 2004 when they received an award for the best family owned restaurant given by Jean-Francois Mesplede who is the chef editor of the Michelin since 2005 and also Paul Bocuse in person!

Welcome to Ché Bon

Seeking new challenges, they decided to move to Australia.

After one year travelling around the country they settled in Tintenbar in 2006 to create Ché Bon. The aim of this cultural exchange experience is to share French traditional way of life and have you spend an unforgettable time at Ché Bon.
